Wayzata’s Light Up the Lake Festival is Thanksgiving Weekend
Wayzata is kicking off the holiday season with it’s Light Up the Lake Festival Friday, Nov. 28 and Saturday, Nov. 29 featuring the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Here is the schedule of events:
Friday, Nov. 28
Noon to 8 p.m. – Winter Market at the Gatherings;
4-7 p.m. – Santa’s Reindeer, Beverages (cash bar) & Wayzata Women’s Choir (5 pm) at Wayzata Depot;
4-8 p.m. – Trolley rides around town, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides on Lake Street, WHS Alumni Greeting at the Gatherings;
6 p.m. – Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Depot;
6:15 p.m. – Wayzata Firefighters’ Parade of Lights on Lake Street;
7-8 p.m. – Visit Santa at Wayzata Depot;
8 p.m. – A Christmas Carol performance by Blue Water Theatre Co. at Wayzata Depot.
Saturday, Nov. 29
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Winter Market at the Gatherings;
Noon to 5 p.m. – Trolley rides around town, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides on Lake Street;
2-5 p.m. – Lake Street Holiday Hop.
The Lake Street Holiday Hop is new this year and event-goers are invited to stop at participating restaurants for free or discounted food or beverages. Start at Gianni’s or 6Smith to receive a punch card and present it at each restaurant to receive the special deals. Some of the other participating restaurants are Sushi Fix, Wayzata Bar and Grill, Peoples Organic, Cov, Lunds and Byerly’s, and many more.
Also, if you visit each restaurant drop your punch card off to be entered into a drawing for a $500 American Express gift card. Register here for this fun event.
