Wayzata Teacher Gets Picked for Special Award

Wayzata West Middle School physical education teacher Mike Brindise was just recognized with a special award.

According to the Sun Sailor, Brindise was selected as Minnesota Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MNAHPERD) Shape America’s Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year. Brindise was nominated by Dr. Jane Carlson, his former professor at the University of Minnesota.

MNAHPERD is a school-based association that provides professional services and resources for teachers, organizations and individuals, the newspaper reported.

Brindise will be honored at the association’s state conference Monday, Nov. 3, at Wayzata High School.
