Wayzata Snowboarder Competes in Junior World Championships
Wayzata resident Jack Taylor was showing the world his snowboarding skills earlier this month as he competed in the Junior World Championships in Valmalenco, Italy.
According to the Sun Sailor, the 18-year-old competed throughout the winter on the pro circuit as a top rider in the Race to the Cop Series and Hole Shot Series. For the Junior World Championship, which ran from March 24 through April 3, Taylor was one of 26 U.S. team members. The competition awarded 36 medals and showcased 620 top snowboarders and skiers from around the world, the Sun Sailor reported.
Taylor qualified for the snowboard cross, slalom and giant slalom events. According to the Sun Sailor, he finished 18th overall in snowboard cross, 25th in slalom and 23rd in giant slalom.
