Wayzata Senior Earns Award at International Science Fair 

Wayzata High School senior earned a third-place award at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) May 11-16 in Los Angeles.

According to the Sun Sailor, Priyanka Narayan won the award for her research project titled “Understanding the Mechanism Behind Nanoparticle Enhanced Oral Absorption of Chemotherapeutic Drugs.”

According to the fair’s website, the competition is incredibly well-known throughout the world:

“The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition, providing an annual forum for more than 1,700 high school students from over 70 countries, regions, and territories to showcase their independent research and compete for about $5 million in awards. …

“Intel ISEF unites these top young scientific minds, showcasing their talents on an international stage, where doctoral level scientists review and judge their work.”

Minnesota was represented at the fair by 37 students, 10 of whom received awards, the Sun Sailor reported.
