Wayzata High School Takes Home 80 Scholastic Art Awards

Wayzata High School students took home an unprecedented number of awards from this year’s Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards.

According to the Sun Sailor, the prestigious art competition gave Wayzata students 80 awards, which was the most awards presented to a school in the state.

“The Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards is broken into three categories: Gold Keys, Silver Keys and Honorable Mentions,” the newspaper said. “Wayzata High School students earned 23 Gold Keys, 18 Silver Keys and 39 Honorable Mentions.”

Gold Key recipients will have their work automatically entered into the National Awards competition in New York, the paper reported. The national medal recipients will be announced sometime in March and awards will be presented in May.
