Farmers Market Coming to Wayzata this Summer
Wayzata will be home to a new farmers market location this summer.
According to the Sun Sailor, the market will be open weekly in the American Legion parking lot, and will hopefully debut May 28 and run through October.
The idea came from Deb Hoen, who has worked with the Excelsior Farmers Market for 21 years. She worked with Wayzata City Manager Heidi Nelson and Chamber of Commerce President Becky Pierson to get the market approved.
“People seem to rally around them in terms of being able to have all these fresh products locally made and grown,” Pierson told the Sun Sailor. “And (Hoen) is an expert on how to put these things together, so I’m excited that they’ve been able to come up with that location.”
All the logistics haven’t been worked out yet, but they are looking at a 1-5 p.m. time slot on Thursdays.
