Acclaimed Restaurateur Expanding to Wayzata With New Restaurant
The owner of the acclaimed Spoon and Stable restaurant in Minneapolis is expanding his business to Wayzata, and will be filling the void vacated when The Blue Point closed last year.
According to the Star Tribune, Gavin Kaysen, who owns Spoon and Stable, which was the Star Tribune’s 2015 Restaurant of the Year, is going to be opening a new restaurant in Wayzata, filling what was the home of The Blue Point, located at 739 E. Lake St., a 30-year community staple that closed in August of 2015.
““I’m thrilled,” Kaysen told the paper. “It’s a great space. There are 30 years of memories inside that restaurant. That’s such a good feeling.”
While an opening date hasn’t been announced, or a name for that matter, the story says the new restaurant will be a French brasserie.
“I want to serve really great escargot, roast chicken, a bibb lettuce salad, all the things that I love to eat,” Kaysen told the paper. The restaurant will be open for dinner, and eventually, lunch and brunch options.
