New Outdoor Amphitheater Proposed for Closed General Motors Site
Proposals for a brand new outdoor concert amphitheater are underway! The site will be built on the closed General Motors metal-stamping plant near Washington Township. This large stadium is going to bring in increased local growth for business, as well as be an exciting addition for locals to attend.
According to the Indianapolis Business Journal and The Indianapolis Star, the amphitheater is among four redevelopment plans being considered by the trust that is overseeing clean up and sale of the site. The amphitheater will make the city more aesthetic for visitors and residents. Other details of the venue’s size are still being decided by the city council.
The venue is expected to compete with the 24,000-seat Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville, close to Washington Township, and also the 7,500-seat theater in White River State Park. Outdoor performances will be unique, given the acoustics of Mother Nature! More details to come on the new amphitheater soon.
