Wildcats Take Mound-Westonka in Gymnastics Meet
The Waconia gymnastics team beat Mound-Westonka in a conference match up last week. Although, the scoring was very close, Waconia won with 130.25 to 128.625 advantage. The team fought hard for each point, and deserved to take the W home that meet.
The vaulters set their scores high, with a sophomore scoring 8.875 out of 10. Then the games started to get competitive when the Wildcats were trailing just by two points. According to the Waconia High School head coach Molly Oscarson, “Our girls held strong, never gave up, and pulled out a win after beam and floor!” she said. “Beam is a big event for any team, and this meet proved that. We were solid!”
Currently, with a 3-1 season, the Waconia Wildcats will have a short break before they head to Big Lake January 4th. They are looking impressive this year, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they make it to finals. Don’t forget to cheer on your gymnastics team! Go Wildcats!
