Waconia Vying for Title of ‘Best Minnesota Town’

Waconia is vying to be named the Best Minnesota Town by Minnesota Monthly magazine.

According to the Sun Patriot, Waconia is one of 10 towns in the state to be named to the magazine’s competition.

Earlier this summer, hundreds of towns in the state were contacted with the opportunity to enter the inaugural Minnesota Monthly “Best Minnesota Town Search” presented by Old Dutch, the report said.

The finalists were chosen by the editorial team of Minnesota Monthly, and include: Austin, Bemidji, Duluth, Grand Marais, Hopkins, New Ulm, Owatonna, St. Cloud, Waconia and Walker.

Public voting for the title runs through Oct. 13 at BestMNTown.com, and people will be allowed to vote up to 10 times per day, the report said. The public vote will make up 25 percent of the score for each finalist, with 75 percent coming from a panel of notable Minnesotans.
