Waconia Grad Announces Candidacy for City Council

Waconia High School graduate Noah McCourt recently announced his candidacy for the Waconia City Council’s Ward II seat.

According to the Sun Patriot, McCourt graduated from Waconia in 2012 and he is one of the founding members of a Young Republicans group that serves Scott, Mcleod, Carver and Renville counties.

“If elected, I will work tirelessly to strengthen the relationship between local business owners and local officials, find fiscally responsible solutions that result in fewer tax increases across the board and provide a way of governing that is transparent, accountable to constituents and brings us together as a community,” McCourt reportedly wrote in a letter announcing his bid.

Charles Erickson, who has yet to announce whether he plans to run for re-election, currently holds the seat.
