Waconia Fundraiser Set for “She Will Fight”
A fundraiser for a nonprofit that aims to support women with late stage cancers is set for Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Sovereign Estates winery in Waconia, Minnesota.
According to the Chanhassen Villager, the fundraiser is for She Will Fight, a nonprofit that provides resources and support of women with all types of cancer. The event is being hosted by Jennifer Schultz, with Corks and Canvas, and Sovereign Estates.
“We all know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease. Whether it be a mother, daughter, aunt, grandma, sister, friend,” Schultz told the newspaper. “Let’s get together for an evening of sharing, caring, and celebration to support She Will Fight.”
She Will Fight serves communities in a four different states, including Minnesota, Missouri, Florida and Texas. The Waconia event was inspired by Genarose Boessen Hohertz, a Victoria resident who was diagnosed with the late stages of ovarian cancer two years ago, the newspaper reported.
Event-goers will paint, drink wine, listen to music and participate in raffles. The event will run from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 18 and is $50 per person, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to She Will Fight. Sovereign Estates is located at 9950 North Shore Rd.
