Waconia Announces New Boys Hockey Coach

Waconia High School‘s boys hockey team will be lead by a familiar face next season. The Waconia School District recently announced Patrick Lenton, the team’s current assistant coach, would take over as head coach next winter.

According to the Sun PatriotLenton brings experience to the Wildcat hockey program as both a coach and a player. As a three-year starter for the Maple Grove High School team, Lenton led his team as captain and was described by his teammates as a true competitor, the newspaper reported.

“I am very excited to begin this new chapter in my career and am even more excited to continue to grow the tradition of Wildcat hockey,” Lenton told the Sun Patriot. “We have some talented returning players coming back as well as a young and hungry group of soon-to-be sophomores that should help us be very competitive and take us to the next level.”
