Personalizing Your New Home

Now that you’ve bought your new home your ready to make it yours. But how do you go about adding your own sense of style to the home without breaking the bank? Here are a few tips to get you started.

Start With A Plan

Any successful decorating or remodeling project starts with a good plan. This will save you time and money in the long run. Start online and see what other people have done. Find color schemes, furniture and decor and print them off into an idea folder.

Start With Paint

Once you have your color scheme figured out, painting is something you’ll want to do before you move your furniture and other items into the home. The less you have to work around the easier your job will be.

Find Your Furniture

This is usually everyone’s favorite part. Depending on your budget and taste, buying your furniture could take you just about anywhere. If your looking to be truly unique and and want to save some money, check out some thrift stores and refinish your furniture. This can be lots of fun and produce some really cool pieces.

Accessorize

Now that you’ve painted and added some furniture, it’s time to finish the space off with some coffee tables, plants and art. Go ahead and have some fun. You’ve already got the core of the room done with color and furniture so go crazy, you can always switch this stuff out later.
