New Art Collaborative Opens in Waconia

Waconia is now home to Unearthed Arts, an art collaborative between four women who had a vision of creating a unique space for artists and community members.

According to the Sun Patriot, the art center, which opened May 1, is the result of the work of Waconia residents Cathy Jo Menssen, Kris James, Cheryl Rae Shohet and Pam Braunwarth.

The new art center encompasses a little bit of each woman’s experience as an artist, and includes a retail gallery featuring local artists, two levels of classrooms, and space for gatherings and events, the newspaper reported.

Unearthed Arts is located  at 44 W. Main St. and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information on the art center, go to unearthedartsmn.com.
