NerdWallet Study Names Waconia as No. 2 City for Young Families in MN
In an analysis of the most affordable and family-friendly communities in Minnesota, local financial company NerdWallet ranked Waconia at No. 2 on its “Best Cities for Young Families in Minnesota” list.
According to NerdWallet, the financial services company looked at three major factors that drive people’s decisions on where they should raise their families: public school excellence, home affordability, and growth and prosperity. A total of 88 cities with populations of at least 10,000 people were looked at and ranked.
Here’s how NerdWallet described Waconia:
“This city just below Lake Waconia offers rich recreational choices — from summer water skiing to winter ice fishing — as well as quality schools. As a suburb of Minneapolis, the city witnessed a rise in population and income growth over the past decade, which led to more retail and business expansion. Waconia’s attractions include wineries and a downtown that is close to the lake. The Carver County Fair comes to town every August.”
Monticello took the No. 1 spot and Ham Lake came in at No. 3. See the full list here.
