Waconia’s first inhabitants traveled up the Mississippi River from New Orleans and over the Minnesota River to Carver’s Landing in Carver, Minn., and eventually found their way through a heavily wooded area that is now Waconia. Today, the city is a growing community of 11,065 people. The city is located just 30 minutes west of the Twin Cities and features beautiful Lake Waconia, a strong school system and great health care facilities.
