Discover the Exciting World of Chocolate at the Historical Society
Much like Willy Wonka’s factory, the Carver County Historical Society is hosting a tour of Laketown Chocolates, in Waconia. Enjoy tasty truffles, chocolate bars, hot cocoa, chocolate syrup and more! Although, there might not be a golden ticket to be found, there is much fun to be had Saturday, March 8th.
Explore the history of chocolate, because it is more than just a treat we adore! Did you know this wonderful delicacy dates back to the early days of the Mayan Empire? Discover step by step how chocolate is made from the cocoa tree, while sampling a variety of different concoctions. You will definitely feel like you are in a dream.
The tour starts at 2 p.m. at the Historical Society. Reservations are required – since there is only room for 15 people! Costing $10 per person, you can call and pay over the phone at (952) 442-4234. Laketown Chocolates, from Waconia, is a locally owned and operated business that has been around from years.
