New Adventure Playground and Splash Pad Under Construction
After much consideration, the new Adventure Playground and Splash Pad is now back on track Anthem residents. Located in the Anthem Community Council’s Community Park, the original amenities are going to be replaced with new materials and play features for enhanced safety and fun.
Through the Reserve Fund project, the council was able to budget the remodeling of the park’s recreational area for kids. They wanted to make sure that it was a place that families could come and have a day of excitement under the sun. Now, the equipment will be more accessible and durable for the community’s children.
According to the Anthem Community Council, the new playground will include three “mega towers” and over 50 play features for a variety of physical challenges and sensory/motor development opportunities. Other additions to the space includes the playground surface, which was replaced with multiple decks with interactive play panels and wheelchair accessibility.
In addition, there are going to be extra shade canopies and benches, existing sand pits will be replenished, and a new splash pad with high/low water features with a soft surface for safer play. The playground will be closed after the July 4th weekend, and the grand re-opening is scheduled for late October.
Look for the new playground and splash pad to be introduced to the Anthem Community Park by next summer. Residents will have an option to cool off in a safe, friendly environment for the whole family.
