City of Anthem Gets Some Fresh Paint, New Plants

Over the next few weeks, residents will see some simple improvements happening at Anthem Community Park and a little more greenery showing up throughout Anthem.

According to a release, the Anthem Community Council Parks & Facilities Maintenance staff is currently working on giving bathrooms throughout ACC Community Park a fresh coat of paint, installing new lighting near the restrooms and also cleaning all the little league and softball field lights to maximize their brightness.

In addition, ValleyCrest Landscaping Maintenance is working on planting 120 new plants throughout Anthem. More than 80 new plants will be placed in the panhandle and 40 new plants on Anthem Way from I-17 east. New plants include Desert Birds of Paradise and Lantanas, well as other colorful desert flora, the release said.

ValleyCrest will also be removing all dead or dying plants that have been in place since Anthem was “planted” in 1999, as well as inspecting and evaluating irrigation to the plant life.
