Parker’s Teen Court is holding an open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 at Town Hall, and teens interested in learning more about the program are invited to come.
Teen Court is a community-based intervention / prevention program that’s designed to provide an alternative response to the juvenile justice system for first-time, nonviolent, misdemeanor juvenile offenders, in which community youth determine appropriate sanctions for the offender.
The Jan. 29 event will feature a live Teen Court sentencing hearing, the opportunity to meet current volunteers and refreshments. The application period is now open for new volunteers, and annual training for new members will begin in February.
RSVP to Teen Court Coordinator Sarah Vandiver at email@example.com. For more information about Teen Court and to get an application, go to www.ParkerOnline.org/TeenCourt.
