Parker Community Makes Sure Kids Don’t Go Hungry

Parker Community Makes Sure Kids Don’t Go Hungry

Santa teams up with Parker Police Department and Parks & Recreation to feed the needy. Although, Mr. Claus is rather busy this time of year he still makes time to participate in food donations. Locals were asked to bring individual-sized servings for the Parker Task Force’s Backpack Program.

The purpose of the program is to give food to children in the community. That is why the individual portion sizes are important for young eaters. They are given a certain amount throughout the weekend and long holidays, if need be. Students should be able to get their schoolwork done without adding hunger to their needs.

Please bring food such as: variety pack cereal, canned meals, popcorn, granola bars, pudding cups, and Ramen noodles. Also accepted are gift cards and cash donations. The big man in red kicked off the season by greeting children with his fellow reindeer friends. Activities also involved writing letter to troops overseas, arts and crafts, and a caroling hayride.
