A city’s school system and the presence of educational opportunities is a big selling point for folks looking to set down some roots. Parker, a suburb of Denver, boasts a variety of schools serving children at the early childhood level through university.
When it comes to public elementary, middle and secondary schools, Parker is part of the top-rated Douglas County School District (DCSD), which also includes the cities of Castle Rock and Highlands Ranch. The district serves 67,000 students and is home to 128 preschool sessions, 64 preschool locations, 47 elementary schools, two magnet schools, nine middle schools, nine high schools, one night high school, 12 charter schools, and an alternative high school and an programming school. And, of course, there is also an online school.
As far as private schools go, Lutheran High School of the Rockies is a Christian high school the aims to nurture academic excellence and encourage growth with Christ.
In addition, there is a community college and two universities in Parker. Arapahoe Community College has a campus in Parker at The University Center at Chaparral High School.
