Xavier Sophomore One of 30 Up for National Volleyball Honor

An Xavier College Preparatory School sophomore is in the running for a national award.

According to the Paradise Valley Independent, Shannon Shields is one of 30 national finalists for the 2016 PrepVolleyball.com National High School Sophomore of the Year award. Shields is the only student-athlete from Arizona who is up for the award.

In addition to this recognition, Shields was recently named First Team All-State by the Arizona Interscholastic Association and Second Team All-State by The Arizona Republic, the article said.
The winner of the award will be announced in early February.
