Xavier Makes Washington Post’s Most Challenging High Schools List

Xavier College Preparatory School is one of the most challenging high schools in the nation, according to Washington Post’s 2016 America’s Most Challenging High Schools list. The school ranked No. 8 in the state of Arizona and 473rd in the nation.
According to the Washington Post, the list ranks schools through an index formula that’s a simple ratio: the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year.
Statistical highlights for Xavier include: 20 AP classes, a 100% four-year graduation rate, an ACT average score of 26.1 and an average SAT score of 1689.
A total of 22 Arizona high schools made the list, with BASIS Oro Valley taking the No. 1 spot.
