Stars of the Season Benefit to Feature Linkin Park
Mark the calenders now, because Grammy-winning alternative rock band Linkin Park is making there way to Paradise Valley in late October. It might seem like a while from now, but it will likely sell out well before the concert date. The annual Stars of the Season fundraiser is held to benefit Cardon Children’s Medical Center on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Located at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia, their newly released album “The Hunting Party” is definitely going to be a headliner in their performance. Linkin Park currently has four No. 1 albums and has gone multi-platinum with each one. Their sound is unlike any other rock group with a mixture of hip hop and electronic, it has captured the attention of millions.
In previous years, Stone Temple Pilots and Everclear’s Art Alexakis have performed winning the hearts of many while gaining money for the Cardon Children’s Hospital. This year the focus will be on raising money for pediatric oncology and establish an integrative cancer care at Mesa medical center, according to AZCentral.com.
Bennington, a member of Linkin Park, became involved with the program when his wife, Talinda, started volunteering at the center. Being a Phoenix native, he recently bought a home in the area and is determined to give back to the community.
“She initially wanted to do the dog-therapy program,” he said in the recent article. “So we got one of our dogs involved. But my wife is very charismatic and outgoing, so immediately she was on the board. And she helped organize the entertainment for the benefit. I, of course, support her in all the things she loves to do, and she’s a really giving person. So it’s hard not to be excited about that.”
