Two Paradise Valley Favorites Make ‘Top 10 Romantic Restaurants’ List

With Valentine’s Day on Saturday, AZ Central’s restaurant critic Howard Seftel rolled out a list of the Top 10 Romantic Restaurants in Metro Phoenix and Lon’s and Elements in Paradise Valley made the list.
Here’s what Seftel had to say about each restaurant:
This beautifully restored hacienda recalls Old Arizona, but the regional American fare whisks you to new Arizona. The menu, tweaked weekly, may include soy-marinated black cod, osso buco with saffron risotto and duck with mesquite gnocchi and root vegetables. The always-available salt-seared ahi tuna appetizer is a destination dish.
Nab a window table and enjoy the sparkling Paradise Valley view. Then focus on chef Beau MacMillan’s inventive, Asian-inflected dishes. An “Iron Chef” winner, he may be whipping up foie gras sticky bun, oysters Rockefeller with Chinese sausage, Szechuan-style short ribs and a Kurobuta pork chop that may be the best pork chop you will ever eat.
Lon’s is located at the Hermosa Inn at 5532 N. Palo Cristi Rd. and Elements is at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain resort at 5700 E. McDonald Dr.
