Phoenix Country Day School Opens Innovation Space
The Phoenix Country Day School (PCDS) recently celebrated the official grand opening of its new state-of-the-art, collaborative academic space.
According to the Town of Paradise Valley Independent, the PCDS opened the Shin Center for Art, Science and Innovation in September.
The goal of the Shin Center is to foster the creative, collaborative, and investigative approaches in arts, sciences, technology, and engineering, according to the report. It’s named after Shin Hyun Soon, the mother of Christopher Cole, who with his wife Jennifer Mee Cole, donated $3.5 million to PCDS to make the center a possibility.
The center has 13 classrooms and teaching spaces, two instructor preparation spaces, three private “huddle” rooms for students to collaborate, and a large faculty office space in which all art and science faculty can collaborate on best practices within their teaching and research, the report said.
