Paradise Valley Women’s Association Recognizes Local Nonprofit Fighting Hunger
A local nonprofit, Kitchen on the Street, was recently recognized by the Town of Paradise Valley Women’s Association for its work combating childhood hunger.
According to the Town of Paradise Valley Independent, Kitchen on the Street collaborates with local schools to identify individual students that would benefit from assistance, and provide food in the privacy of the school nurse’s office.
The meals have resulted in children raising their reading scores by 12 percent, and math scores by 26 percent, the article said.
The women’s group provided Kitchen on the Street a check with an undisclosed amount of funding for to the organization continue its efforts.
