Paradise Valley Student Helps Create New App to Make Traveling More Authentic
A 15-year-old Paradise Valley student is part of a four-person team who developed an innovative new traveling app.
According to the Town of Paradise Valley Independent, Ariana Sokolov helped create a mobile platform to connect travelers to locals for a more authentic traveling experience.
The team, dubbed Travelot, is made of high schoolers and is part of MIT Launch, a summer entrepreneurship program held at MIT in Cambridge, MA. The students are tasked with handling every aspect of the pseudo company, from market research to accounting, according to the report. Sokolov’s job is coding the website and iOS application.
The app gives travelers a “local experience” by allowing locals to post activities and travel experiences that travelers can buy through a mobile app and website, according to the report.
The team is already looking to partner with small businesses, possible investors, brand ambassadors, according to the report.
