‘Family Circus’ Artist, Bil Keane’s Statue Dedication Tonight
We are familiar with the famous comic strip ‘Family Circus’, we read it every Sunday on the back page of the newspaper. Now, being done by the late Bil Keane’s son, Jeff Keane he is heading up the cartoon; making sure everyone can still enjoy his dad’s legacy each week.
This month marks a year since the “Giddy-up, Daddy” has left us. In recognition a statue was erected to commemorate his memory. Keane was a long-time resident of Paradise Valley, and enjoyed living there while making his cartoons. No one will forget the way he made us smile and fall in love with ‘Family Circus’. Growing up, the family resembled the American home in a humorous, fun-loving way!
Join the ceremony at the McCormich-Stillman Railroad Park, located at 7301 East Indian Bend Road. The sculpture will feature all the characters from Family Circus, entitled ‘Giddy-up, Daddy’.
