Minnetonka’s Nastaran Nassiri Receives Scholarship for Educational Activism

Minnetonka High School’s Nastaran Nassiri recently received a $600 scholarship for her work in educational activism in both Minnetonka and Afghanistan.

According to the Sun Sailor, Nassiri received the scholarship from the League of Women Voters South Tonka, which has been offering the scholarship for the last three years.

Applicants were required to write a one-page essay and picking from the League’s motto “Educate, Advocate and Reform,” explain how they have used the concept in their school, work place or community.

“Nastaran’s essay was the essence [of] our motto, ‘educate, advocate and reform,’” League of Women Voters South Tonka panel judge Penny Trunnell told the newspaper.
