Chris Carr Named Minnetonka’s New Boys Basketball Coach

Former NBA player Chris Carr has been named the new head coach of the Minnetonka High School boys basketball team.

According to SWNewsMedia, Carr comes to Minnetonka after leading the Eden Prairie girls team to more than 100 wins in the last five seasons.

“Coach Carr brings an extensive basketball pedigree and has great knowledge, experience, and passion to lead us forward in the Lake Conference,” MHS Activities Director Ted Schultz said. “Equally important, Coach Carr brings the desire to develop our students into tremendous young men who play the game with passion and effort, while being outstanding citizens and students in our school community.”

During his NBA career, Carr spent time with a variety teams including the Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics. He also played in Greece and Serbia before ending his career in 2003, the newspaper said.
