Minnetonka Approves ‘Self-Service’ Liquor License
The Minnetonka City Council recently approved a “self-serve” liquor license for a new fast-casual dining concept.
According to the Sun Sailor, Greenfield Natural Kitchen will now be able to offer self-serve wine and beer through an automated electronic identification system.
The request for a liquor license under these unique circumstances was first brought before the council in early February. During that meeting, owner Doug Sams explained that the system would be unlocked via a radio-frequency identification wristband to ensure compliance with age restrictions and other regulations, as well as other safeguards.
The council had some concerns, and city staff went to work with Sams to provide additional stipulations to make things work.
