Littleton welcomes a new, boutique hospital at the northwest corner of Wadsworth Boulevard and Coal Mine Avenue. Since it is a smaller clinic, they won’t have all the necessary equipment to do high-end surgeries, but it is perfect for locals to go somewhere for simple procedures.
According to the Denver Post, the Foothills Park and Recreation District owned the land since 1972 and is under contract with Emerus Development Company, which will build the hospital on what is now an open lot. The sale was dependent on rezoning the land to allow for what will be a boutique hospital – a hospital that specializes in personalized care and high-volume surgeries.
Although the process is still underway, planning is in full swing. The city has bought the land and the Jefferson County Commissioners approved the rezoning. “It’s good to see vacant land that is being utilized to the highest and best use.” District 3 Commissioner Don Rosier said in the recent article.
