Littleton Fire Rescue’s Wayne Zygowicz was recently named an “Innovator in EMS 2014.” According to the city, the innovator program recognized 10 EMS providers who have introduced innovations into the field in the last year.
Zygowicz, who is the support services division chief for Littleton Fire Rescue, was recognized for his broad work in the field of suicide.
“He wrote a procedural manual and developed training for first responders in suicide cases, as well as authored pamphlets which first responders can give to the families of suicide victims,” a city news release said. “He presented his research paper along with his training innovations at the EMS Today conference in Washington D.C. in 2013.”
