It started a few years back, Greg Reinke, president of the Historic Downtown Littleton Merchants, heard that residents didn’t like the idea of “turkey-leg events” and that it might mean bad business for the community. After realizing how ridiculous these complaints were, Reinke proposed a Turkey Leg and Wine Hoedown in contrast to rumors.
Today, the event is a big hit among local Littleton businesses and residents. This weekend the town welcomes the Turkey Leg and Wine Hoedown, located in the downtown area. One of the headliners this year is an appearance from Old MacDonald himself, from the Geico commericials, also known as Larrs Jackson he fits the part perfectly.
Slightly making fun of the country life, the event will have box wine, PBR tall boys, and cheese (whiz) tastings, and there will be some mouth-watering turkey legs to munch on while exploring the various activities with friends and family. Also, don’t forget to stop by Granny Ma’s Catering to try a pecan pie on a stick.
Stay around for some square dancing and live music by Dixie Leadfoot and the Struts, who will be performing each evening. Starting tomorrow night at 6 p.m., as well as Saturday night, everyone has a chance to participate in unforgettable, fun events.
There is a $3 cover charge which includes all entertainment, while food and beverages are sold separately. According to the Littleton Independent, Reinke says suggested attire is Daisy Dukes for the ladies and bib overalls with no shirt for the guys, and everyone who arrives in character gets $1 off admission.
Located in the Reinke Bros. parking lot, 5664 S. Prince St, “It’s good food, good music, good times,” Reinke said in the article. For more information call 303-795-5006 or email email@example.com
