What started out as a hobby for Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher is now a full-blown lifestyle. VHS tapes were a thing of the past, some of us never even touched one. Now, there are plans to throw a party on Sept. 6 of their collection – of nearly 6,000 tapes – at the Alamo Drafthouse in Littleton.
“Now we’re reaching a whole new generation of people,” said Preuher in the Littleton Independent article. “It’s like an 8-track was to people our age. The college kids now, maybe they have a vague memory of their mom watching an exercise video or something, but that’s about it. And it was such a unique moment in time. It was such a novelty when it came out.”
Pickett and Prueher will take the audience on a guided tour of their latest, and greatest, VHS finds. The event will include live commentary and where-are-they-now updates on the people shown in the videos.
