Lakeville Police Launch Cops & Coats Campaign

The Lakeville Police Department recently launched its Cops & Coats campaign to collect jackets and coats for the Lewis House shelter for victims of domestic abuse.

“A warm coat can be one of the first things that help a victim of domestic violence know that others are there to help and that leaving, sometimes with literally nothing, is the best decision,” Deputy Chief John Kornmann, the event organizer, said in a release.

Collection bins for donations can be found at the following locations:

  • Lakeville Police Department, 9237 183rd St.
  • Lakeville City Hall, 20195 Holyoke Ave.
  • Water Treatment Facility,18400 Ipava Ave.

Coats and jackets for women and children are being accepted. The drive will run through Jan. 31.
