Tommy Davis Park Attracts Active Greenwood Village Locals

Looking for a great, relaxing place to go fishing in Greenwood Village? Well – look no further. Tommy Davis Park is the best spot to catch some fish and have some fun. The park is located just east of South Yosemite Street on East Orchard Road. Every year, they host an annual Tommy Davis Park Fishing Derby and Rubber Duck Waddle, making it a family fun activity for everyone.

Last weekend, people from all different generations and lifestyles gathered to celebrate the abundance of freshly stocked trout. The park features a small waterfront especially for recreational fishing. According to The Villager newspaper, the sun was shining, the grass was green, and the fish were swimming, although not doing much biting. It has been a few years since they have been able to hold the annual event due to previous poor water conditions.

Even though the fish weren’t biting, families still gathered to make the most of the beautiful Greenwood Village weather. Tommy Davis Park offers more than a fishing pond. There is a basketball court, a small sand volleyball court, a playground, picnic tables, a pond and a hike/bike trail. Teams gather to play group sports on the multi-use playing field on designated days, as well.

Head to the local park this weekend for some healthy outdoor activity. Click here to see available trails that wind around the park for those interested in planning a route for a bike ride or a walk.
