The New Police Foundation Promotes Technology and Public Safety Jobs for Youth

Greenwood Village is launching a police foundation and electronic citation technology upgrade to the department. The foundation is being formed in order to give back to the community by doing things for fallen officer’s families, offering scholarships to youth interested in public safety careers and to help fund technology that isn’t in the city’s budget.

The police department promotes the foundation because it is a community-supported organization. Most major cities in the U.S. have one, and now Greenwood Village does too! Following the lead of the Denver Police, they will keep pace of the rapidly changing technology and be able to provide specialized technology for the officers.

It has already made a difference in the community. Officers are able to respond more quickly to incidents with the fast, new equipment being added.
