Greenwood Village was Turned to Emerald City Hall

Greenwood Village was turned into the magical land of Oz. Although it was a chilly night, everyone had a good time celebrating the famous story of Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West! The city hall was decked out in emerald green colors, with the famous yellow brick road running through the building.

Mimicking the city’s name, the Emerald Village was very fitting! It was the theme for this year’s holiday event, and the Mayor Ron Rakowsky was thrilled to be a part of it. “Thank you to all who came out to the Land of Oz and enjoyed some community spirit in the Emerald Villagesaid Rakowsky. “Our holiday lighting event has been one of our most creative city efforts.”

There were more than 500 Greenwood Village residents wandering around the Land of Oz that evening. Indoor activities included: monkey sand art, “Toto” tag, scarecrow ornaments and some witches brew. Don’t forget the most important part – a production put on by the cast of Talent West-Princess. They sang the familiar songs, “Over the Rainbow” and “Ease on Down the Road”. The turnout was better than expected and it brought smiles to the local faces!
