Greenwood Village is Home to Llama Farm

Llamas are beautiful, long-necked animals with big, cartoon eyes that are one of the most friendly animals to visit. At a farm in Greenwood Village is 10-acres of gorgeous landscape set for these elegant, woolly grazers.

If you drive down Belleview Avenue, you might notice a flock of them sticking there heads over a fence. It almost seems as though they are smiling at you, maybe even batting their long eyelashes! 5500 South Forest Lane, the Greenwood Village headquarters of Llamas, is where they hold pack animal training and the rental business for the llamas.

Backpackers can rent these graceful, creatures to carry a large amount of weight up the mountain side. It could save you a series of backaches and other future pain. Being a strong and reliable beast, they can handle the pressures of the high altitude.

The llama business began about 10 years ago, when the owner John Myers was starting to get worried about the number of hiking trips that were left in him. Realizing the intelligence and endurance llamas have, he thought they would be a great addition to his team. They can be rented for hunting, fishing, and backpacking trips.

Greenwood Village locals really enjoy passing by the smiling animals everyday, and will continue to do so for years to come!
