It is summertime in Colorado again, which means sunny, bluebird days packed with things to see and do! Engage with your community at fun festivals, outdoor movies, concerts and fairs. Below are some our favorite cultural events the Metro Denver area has to offer during the summer of 2014.


Colorado Renaissance Festival

June 14–August 2


Location: Larkspur


An adventure back into the 16th century. Enjoy jousting, turkey legs, music and the medieval marketplace.


City Park Jazz

June–July (Sundays)

Location: City Park, Denver


Every Sunday night in June and July, the City Park Bandstand and Pavilion turns into a swinging, open-air jazz club as music lovers of all ages congregate for the free City Park Jazz.


Cherry Creek Arts Festival

July 4–6

Location: Cherry Creek North, Denver


A celebration of visual, culinary, and performing arts! Walk the streets of Cherry Creek North and discover Colorado’s finest artisan creations.


Rocky Mountain Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival

July 10–12

Location: Douglas County Fairgrounds, Castle Rock


Get out your sewing needle and fabric! Share your pieces and ideas with other quilters or simply relish in the beauty of handmade quilts and crafts.


Colorado Irish Festival

July 11–13

Location: Clement Park, Littleton


An eclectic gathering for all things green: Gaelic sports, Irish step dancing, Irish rock and classical music. This festival is sure to entertain.


Seventh German Fest

July 18–20

Civic Green Park, Highlands Ranch


The German Fest offers traditional European dancing, food, music, exhibits and beer. Prost!


Dragon Boat Festival

July 19–20

Location: Sloan’s Lake, Denver


Enjoy culturally inspired performances, music, and beautifully crafted dragon boats all with the stunning backdrop of Sloan’s Lake.


Denver County Fair

August 1–3

National Western Complex, Denver


The annual Denver County Fair is a place to share ideas, traditions, creativity, local culture and intellect. The Fair highlights the talents, trends, diversity, and interests of the residents of the amazing City and County of Denver.


Colorado Scottish Festival

August 9–10

Highlands Heritage Park, Highlands Ranch


Scottish culture comes alive at the annual Colorado Scottish Festival! Enjoy nonstop music and dancing, athletic competitions, solo piping and drumming competitions, vendors, free Haggis tasting and much more.


Rocky Mountain Music Festival

August 10

Clement Park Amphitheatre, Littleton


All-day music, vendors and fun in Clement Park! You be the judge of Battle of the Bands and the finalist as they bid for the number one spot.


A Taste of Colorado

August 29–September 1

Civic Center Park, Denver
