Setting An Example for Greenwood Residents Keene Inducted into Hall of Fame
Long time educator and role model for many Greenwood residents, Larry Keene has played an important role in shaping the athletic department. His passion for exercise, and beating records at the University of Indianapolis has put him in the UIndy’s Athletic Hall of Fame! Now 71-years-old, Keene still keeps fit physically while living in sunny Florida.
Spending 40 years teaching at the Greenwood Community School, he also coached cross-country when he wasn’t in class. His dedication has definitely earned him a spot in the city’s history! Keene will be honored at a formal ceremony this Saturday, February 15th, so that his fellow peers and students can show their appreciation. Without his contribution over the years, the community would have not been the same.
Greenwood makes it a point to honor those that take the time to lead. Education and exercise are important in the community, and were highly emphasized by Keene. To this day, he still keeps up with cycling long distances and being an example for other teachers.
