Raise Money for Greenwood’s Library at The Great Cow Drop

Look up in Greenwood’s sky next Saturday, July 19 because it will be raining cows. Well, not exactly real cows, it’s the annual Great Cow Drop presented the public library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A helicopter full of stuffed toy cows are dropped overhead unto the football field to raise money for the Friends of the Greenwood Public Library.

Interesting concept, and it works. Residents can purchase a cow for $10 to win a trip for four to Disney World – every family’s dream vacation. Every year, hundreds of participants take their chances and one person walks away with the big prize. The money isn’t wasted though, it goes right back into the community to continue their goal to push education and learning.

Be at Greenwood Middle School, 523 S. Madison Avenue, before 10 a.m. to watch this one-of-a-kind event take place. There will also be plenty of food, games, animal shows and raffle prizes given away during the day. Everyone leaves with a smile on their face and a memory they will never forget.

Get tickets to the event at the library or the local Greenwood Chick-fil-A restaurant for $2. Don’t have a cow. Remember, there are going to be 10 awesome prizes, and one lucky family will win the trip of a lifetime.
