Greenwood’s Oaken Barrel Brewing Plans Expansion
A longtime Greenwood business is planning an expansion that would allow them to continue to grow in its hometown.
According to Inside Indiana Business, Oaken Barrel Brewing Company is working with Franklin-based Bemis Group to purchase and renovate the Vista Village retail center off Interstate 65 on Greenwood’s Main Street. If all goes as planned, the entire four-acre site would be revitalized and the center would be renamed Airport Parkway Plaza.
“Oaken Barrel has grown steadily since the business opened more than 20 years ago, but what we’ve seen over the past 3-5 years is only beginning to show our true potential with the rise in craft beer interest and popularity.” Kwang Casey of Oaken Barrel told the news publication. “Greenwood is our home, and this is where we want to be. This project will allow Oaken Barrel to remain in Greenwood – and thrive in Greenwood – for many years to come.”
The Greenwood Redevelopment Commission has approved the project, but no time frame for beginning or completing renovations, the article said.
