Greenwood Community Center Renovations Get Underway

The $2 million renovation of the Greenwood Community Center is officially underway. The community center closed on April 1 so construction could begin.

According to Inside Indiana Business, the major renovation includes an expansion of the fitness area that includes the addition of fitness class areas, a children’s area and a Luckey Climber for kids.

“With the addition of a modern Community Center, Greenwood Parks & Recreation will be one the most comprehensive and diverse systems in the state,” Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers told the publication. “To be a successful city, a city appealing to both current and potential new residents and businesses, Greenwood must offer desirable amenities and a high quality of life.”

The newly renovated center is set to open late in 2016 or early 2017, the publication said.
