Fast Track Helps Families in Need of School Supplies
A Greenwood mother, just like dozens of other families in the area, needs to figure out school supplies for her three little boys. Brandi Moore, 29, is lucky to be a part of a local nonprofit, Fast Track, that provides children with the necessary things needed for the classroom.
The summer vacation is starting to wind down and the school year is just around the corner for Greenwood students. The last thing on their minds is how to pay for supplies and clothes, but on the other side of the spectrum their are hundreds of kids that are worried about money.
Fast Track is a United Way program aimed at helping families in need. This year they plan on helping 2,400 children get ready for school within the next couple of weeks. According to their website, it is a countywide school readiness program which provides backpacks, school supplies and other items to help low income students be prepared for the first day of school.
