Wine Enthusiast Magazine has named a newer Denver steakhouse as one of the top wine restaurants in the United States.
According to the magazine’s 2015 100 Best Wine Restaurants list, Denver’s Guard and Grace is a top spot for vino. The restaurant bills itself as a modern steakhouse and is named for the chef’s daughter.
“We do realize that Cabernet rules, but our drive to expose guests to things they haven’t heard of will never die,” Wine Director Todd Rocchio told the magazine.
The magazine goes on to say the restaurant boasts many styles that are typically not seen in steakhouses such “high-acid, low-tannin reds like Frappato, and a broad selection of Old World white wines.”
Other Colorado restaurants that made the list were Element 47 in Aspen, Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder and Allred’s in Telluride’s Mountain Village.
